Firearms Tactical Rifle Basic (AR-15/M16 10-24-18) ECTC
This course will provide students with the basic skills and knowledge necessary to safely and tactically deploy an m-16/ar-15 style patrol rifle in the field. This course will include the use of classroom instruction and practical application on the range.
Topics covered; department policy and procedure, case law, force options, legal and moral options when deploying patrol rifle, ammunition and expectations. The patrol rifle use, nomenclature of weapon system, weapons breakdown/maintenance, safe handling of rifle. Students will practice using their patrol rifle in several scenarios.
Must be currently employed full time by a California law enforcement agency as a sworn peace officer. Must be authorized to possess a “California Assault Rifle” and high capacity magazines. California compliant rifles or rifles with “bullet buttons” are not allowed. Also see required equipment listed below.
