Bicycle Patrol | 04/09/2024 - 04/11/2024

Must currently be employed by a law enforcement or public safety agency. This course is for officers recently assigned to bicycle patrol. The course includes instruction in riding techniques, patrol procedures, and nutrition. Students will complete extended bicycle rides which include stair descents, maneuvering in traffic, and other riding techniques.

This is a physically demanding course. Participants will be riding their bicycles for extended periods of time every day.

REQUIRED EQUIPMENT:
• Students must wear full-duty bicycle patrol uniform
• Full duty belt (nylon recommended) with all patrol ready equipment
• Duty jacket
• Long pants
• Extra clothes
• 50 rounds of ammo (RSD personnel will be provided ammo)
• Department issued patrol bicycle with light system
• Bicycle water bottle
• Bicycle helmet
• Eye protection
• Cycling gloves
• 2 spare bicycle tubes

RSD EMPLOYEES ONLY:
• H.T. from their station

ADDITIONAL SUGGESTED ITEMS:
• Sunscreen
• Snacks
• Water
