Internal Affairs Investigation | 05/31/2022 to 06/02/2022
This course offers the law enforcement professional the necessary skills to perform an effective, thorough and defensible internal affairs investigation. Participants gain an understanding of the issues and role a supervisor plays in the disciplinary process along with the importance of positive discipline. The students learn the differences between civil and criminal liability and acquire a strong working knowledge of the Peace Officer Procedural Bill of Rights Act.
The foundation of this course is built around the principles of adult-learning. The course facilitators use student-based learning, appropriate learning activities, group involvement and provide examples of real-life scenarios to enhance the learningprocess. Participants are encouraged to bring a laptop computer and their agency’s internal affairs investigation policy.
