PC 832 Firearms | 03/19/2023 - 03/25/2023

All students will need to obtain a DOJ clearance letter. The procees to obtain this letter takes approximately 6-10 weeks depending on how busy the DOJ is. Registration for this course will close 6 weeks prior to the start of class.

     The Firearms component of the P.C. 832 course is a 24-hour course which covers topics such a firearm safety, handgun familiarization, firearms care and cleaning, shooting principles, and range qualification. This course is designed to provide the students with the firearms safety factors and precautions, firearms shooting principles including range firing of handguns.

     In order to receive a certificate of completion for the course, you need to successfully pass the Firearms Skill Examination. ANY student with a convicted felony and certain misdemeanors will not be allowed to possess a firearm in California.

     NOTE: Agency letterheads will no longer be accepted. All students will need to obtain a DOJ clearance letter. DOJ letters over six months old at the start of class will not be accepted. You will earn 0.5 units of college credits.

• All attendees shall arrive in duty uniform or casual range attire
• Handgun .38 cal or higher (No single action or semi auto pistols allowed) (leave firearm in vehicle on first day of class)
• Belt Holster with retention
• 2 speed loaders (for revolvers only)
• 3 Magazines
• Body armorer (if you have it)
• Eye Protection
• Ear Protection
• Cleaning kit
• *500 rounds factory ammunition (reloads not allowed at BCTC range)
*RSD personnel will be provided ammo
