Red Dot Sight Pistol Transition | 09/25/2023 - 09/26/2023

Must be currently employed by a law enforcement or public safety agency. A sixteen-hour course designed to allow students to improve their shooting skills and practice tactical decision making, while using their primary firearm. Students will receive some lecture on force options, case law, legal and moral issues and firearms tactics. Students will practice (live fire) tactically, using their primary firearm and using good judgment during a firearm encounter. Students will also practice decision making skills during incidents involving the use of firearms. This course will satisfy the eight-hour requirement of Perishable Skills Program training, as set forth by POST, for Tactical Firearms Training as well as the requirement of a department member to carry a pistol red dot optic on and off duty. Students can arrange with range staff to have their optic mounted prior to the course.

• Optic must be mounted and zeroed prior to the start of class.
• All attendees shall arrive in duty uniform
• Duty Sidearm
• Pistol mounted optic
• Holster
• Magazines
• Duty Sam Browne
• Ballistic Vest or Tactical Vest i.e., plate carrier
• Eye Protection
• Ear Protection

**Outside Agencies must bring 400 rounds of ammo for their firearm.**
