Must currently be employed by a law enforcement or public safety agency or have completed a Basic Correctional Deputy Academy (ADJ-CID). This 16-hour course is designed to train correctional deputies to work with inmates who are mentally ill. Deputies will learn about specific mental illnesses, de-escalation skills, and suicide prevention, in addition to other mental health related issues.
