Red Dot Sight Pistol Transition EAST COUNTY TRAINING CENTER | 12/11/2023 - 12/12/2023

Must be currently employed by a law enforcement or public safety agency. A sixteen-hour course designed to allow students to improve their shooting skills and practice tactical decision making, while using their primary firearm. Students will receive some lecture on force options, case law, legal and moral issues and firearms tactics. Students will practice (live fire) tactically, using their primary firearm and using good judgment during a firearm encounter. Students will also practice decision making skills during incidents involving the use of firearms. This course will satisfy the eight-hour requirement of Perishable Skills Program training, as set forth by POST, for Tactical Firearms Training as well as the requirement of a department member to carry a pistol red dot optic on and off duty.  Students can arrange with department armorers to have their optic mounted prior to the course or have their optic mounted day 1 of the course.
