Law Enforcement Active Shooter Emergency Response (LASER) | 10/04/2022 - 10/07/2022
Due to the prevalence of gun violence, Louisiana State University (LSU), the National Center for Biomedical Research and Training (NCBRT), and the Academy of Counter-terrorist Education (ACE) have focused their resources on training law enforcement to respond to this threat. Course addresses technical aspects of planning and implementing an armed, rapid law enforcement deployment to an active shooter incident. This is achieved through classroom presentations, hands-on performance-based field training, and scenario-based practical exercises.
Armed front line responders, dispatched to an in-progress active shooter incident. State and local law enforcement, range instructors, firearms instructors, school resource officers, emergency services instructors, academy instructors, and academy trainers. This TRAIN-THE-TRAINER version was designed for established trainers/instructors in academies, agencies or departments, seeking to train their personnel the “indirect” version of this course. LSU/NCBRT will furnish support to new trainers with using LSU/NCBRT course materials.
